pic of the day (17) -- AYCJ

building interior; cambridge, MA

all-you-can-jet -- day 17; miami beach, FL

today was mostly travel ... there was a bit of a drive to get from miami to FLL and then our flight was "direct" (vs. "non-stop") to BOS with a brief stop in RIC ... so there's not a lot ...

... but on the first leg of the flight, we had the row immediately in front of the emergency exit -- which not only did not recline, but the TV channels didn't change either.  i spoke to a flight attendant about it and she quickly moved us back to the emergency exit row (the only row with extra space [that you're supposed to pay for] on the plane).

this, in turn, seated me across from a woman that i could only describe as the absolute best looking cheerleader you could imagine ... if she was 60 years old ... i surreptitiously shot this picture of her purse (for chrissake).

once on the ground in boston, the plan was to meet up with old pals of my accomplice.  we took the T to head over to turner's and meet up with everyone there.  i have a long-time relationship with this place -- they have a clam chowder that is so good that it was retired from the city's chowder competition.

unfortunately they changed the bloody recipe.  it's still good, yes, but it's no longer heads-and-tails above everything else.

from there we walked a bit with our final goal being toscanini's ice cream.

we detoured through frank gehry's stata center (which actually reminded me more of kubuswoningen, than modern gehry.)  here's some pix from there.

for ice cream i had malted vanilla and pistachio.  i thought it was good, not great, even though my accomplice was red-lining over how good it was.

a couple more pix:

(stayed here last night.  $36 including all taxes and fees.  mildly run down and very very cool in every respect.)

gate staff freaked when they saw the AYCJ shirts ... 1st time any JB
staff mentioned 'em.
